Made around 1585 at the Royal Armouries in Greenwich for George Clifford -Earl of Cumberland- this armor was part of a garniture for field and tournament which included four extra vamplates, a second helmet as well as a matching chanfron and saddle plates. The design is featured in the Jacobe Album (Jacob Halder) at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the armor is now part of the: Metropolitan Museum armor collection in New York.
